Homes for Wells Board Vacancies

The Homes for Wells board is a group of 8 local volunteers with experience from all different backgrounds and walks of life. We join together with a common objective; To provide secure, affordable housing for local working families to 'Help Wells Thrive'.

We are looking for a Strategic Partner to join our Board of Directors following the departure of our current incumbent in March 2026. 

The role comprises the following tasks:

• Responsible for reviewing financial records and advising board on financial matters. (keeping records is secretary)
• Budget and then forecast updates as required Monthly report vs budget and variance analysis highlighting any financial risks.
• External audit liaison oversight.
• Dealing with any technical issues e.g. HMRC, pensions.
• Oversight of banking / cash management.
• Financial controls setting and oversight.
• Assessment of large investments.
• Loan negotiations and raising loans; and
• Managing finances in any unusual situations e.g. Covid

We are seeking a legally qualified professional, ideally with expertise in property, governance or housing law to provide strategic oversight and ensure our community impact remains robust.

This is a rewarding opportunity to apply your legal skills toward providing secure, affordable housing to local key workers. 

We are looking for a new Board Member with a background in building development, surveying, or construction management. As we strive to provide affordable housing for local people, your technical expertise will be vital in overseeing new projects and navigating the complexities of local development.
